Pros

Many opportunities to travel and work on different types of equipment. Lots of room to grow and work on things that interest you. OT paid at 1x hourly rate for all hours over 90 in a 2 week period. Lots of chances to make OT. Lead engineers typically have a lot of freedom to run their part of the project as they see fit.

Cons

Burnout due to demand placed on lead engineers. 40% travel can quickly turn into 80+%. Many weeks over 60+ hours required. Health benefits for families are below average for this field of work.
