Pros

The entire company has such a strong sense of mission. Very little politicking and wasteful discussions, compared to other healthcare / technology companies. Lots of autonomy for the technology teams, who are encouraged to think long-term about how to scale their partnered operations teams.

Cons

Relatively small software teams (and overall, small technology org) can make it unclear how to progress in the traditional sense (promotions, taking on direct reports). The product development team is relatively flat, which is mostly a good thing, but can be disorienting for some people. Given that the company is no longer a startup, it can feel unstructured (or at least loosely structured) for its size.

Pros

The culture at Devoted is so warm and welcoming, everyone is always willing to help without judgement. It really feels like a giant family! We know that we're all working for the common goal of helping seniors navigate the healthcare system to get the care, attention, and love that they all need. I've never felt so empowered to make decisions based on what's right for a member. Devoted Health and my direct manager always stress how important it is for us to take care of ourselves in order to help our members. They remind us often that we can't pour from an empty cup and t's important to have that work-life balance & be able to prioritize your needs even before your job.

Cons

Things can change quickly being in a startup environment and what you were doing for a process yesterday might not be the same today. Sometimes there will be a change that is intended to fix/improve an individual process that inadvertently impacts another process. With that being said, we know that this happens because we're making improvements and getting better with time.
