Pros

Good range of ages working in the Alexandria office. Wide variety of fields company wide. Treated fairly. Alexandria is generally a stepping stone to a better job but people do not seem to be itching to get out even though they are all pretty much looking for other jobs while there.

Cons

The work in the Alexandria is not very pertinent to any degree. The people who call Alexandria can be really rude. You reiterate FEMA policies even if you know they are not fair or just.

Pros

laid back atmosphere - it's a family owned corporation so it isn't driven by stockholders (which can be a positive or negative thing) stable - 50% are government contracts so the job is pretty stable, even when one office closes, the company usually moves you to other offices flexible - going with the laid back atmosphere...it's pretty easy to accommodate for family situations (having an earlier work day to avoid a long commute; leaving early to pick up kids etc.)

Cons

horrible management. from my experience, the higher their rank the more lack of common sense and basic business etiquette for their subordinates. decent, but not competitive benefits/salary
