Pros

I have friends that use the Dexcom product, so I was ecstatic to be a part of a company that helps so many people overcome their issues with Diabetes. Starting off working in Dexcom's Manufacturing departments is actually pretty great. No experience is required, as Dexcom has an extensive and fully developed training department that trains all new employees. The amount of documents, online videos, and tests you are required to complete is almost staggering. You are trained on how to follow current GMPs, Dexcom's SOPs, and various other things you need to know in order to perform your tasks. Your designated trainer will guide you through everything until you are ready to be on your own. The team there is very helpful and seems to always be available for any questions that you might have. Paid training Friendly environment Great coworkers

Cons

After working at Dexcom's Manufacturing departments for a few months you'll start to see that it's not all roses and sunshine. The team members that you started with changes at an almost blindingly fast pace as members leave left and right to work other companies. Most of the manufacturing companies that compete with Dexcom for employees require experience working in the field, which Dexcom so generously provided with their training department . But there's no incentive to stay at Dexcom after getting all of that training and experience when competitors easily offer a pay increase averaging around 25%-30%. Someone in upper management obviously saw that this constant hiring and training of employees that just up and leave was turning out to be too expensive and decided that a raise was in order to be more competitive with other companies in the industry and retain good employees. The raise given to MFG Associates was an average of 5%. But any employee who was working at Dexcom for years and was making above that amount did not receive a raise. So far this has done nothing to keep employees as the pay is still way below what other companies offer. Let's bring up the cleanroom rules at Dexcom. Dexcom's training goes over the many rules in the cleanroom and the trainers make sure that we understand them. I remember my trainer telling me on my first day that English is the only language allowed in the cleanroom. Literally 5 minutes later I watched as two leads struck up a conversation in Tagalog. I asked her about it and she just explained that they're superiors and there's nothing she can do. As the leads and even supervisors ignore certain rules, the team does the same thing, and there's no way to enforce them. While some of the equipment is very new, many other critical things like computers are outdated and need to be retired. But getting management to do anything like request new equipment or supplies that are not readily available from the warehouse is a nightmare. Most of management is so completely detached from the team on the floor, as many of them never step foot in the cleanroom. You'd actually be hard pressed to find even a single supervisor among any of the departments at any given time of the day in the cleanroom. Low pay compared to competitors Blatant disregard for some cleanroom rules Extremely high turnover Outsourcing jobs to other countries
