Pros

One of Dexis' core values is Investment in People, and I can say from first-hand experience that isn't just a tagline used to attract talent. For the 2.5 years I was there, professional development and staff care resources continued to grow in response to employee feedback, and the number of internal promotions steadily increased as the company expanded. When a swath of staff felt strongly about things, senior leadership listened, responded transparently, and encouraged feedback. Even before being a Program Manager, I felt seen by more than just my own supervisor. Dexis is also comprised of employees who care deeply about the work they do and continue to pay it forward as a result. You won't find anyone there that's only half-interested in their day-to-day. From the highest level, people are invested in the success of the company - and therefore others - so staff never hesitate to teach and mentor other staff. No matter your seniority, you can truly go to anyone with questions (so long as you give the issue a shot on your own first), and even if someone's swamped, they'll still circle back with an answer as soon as possible. It was always really refreshing when others - all across the company and support units - never hesitated to help you learn.

Cons

Expectations are high at Dexis. It's what keeps the company competitive, but be ready to work hard. If you're talented, your plate will fill quickly, perhaps overflow, and it's hard to offload despite raising your hand and asking for help. But since the culture is great, the lack of help is a resourcing issue (as most others are almost equally as busy), and generally not an issue of someone not pulling their weight. The company has grown exponentially at incredible speed, but the addition of new staff hasn't kept pace with increased demands. That seemed to have perhaps been changing as I was leaving, but with so much new work, I think the company is still learning how to staff proactively (and assume some risk in doing so), rather than hiring only once staff have burned out.
