Pros

They do have a legitimate moat in the certificate and PKI space, which gives them some resilience in the short term. Smart people exist in pockets, especially among individual contributors and legacy teams that have survived the churn.

Cons

The CPO is directionless and often comes across as out of touch. All-hands meetings are filled with hollow references to “AI” and “Quantum,” but there’s no actual product vision or roadmap that ties those trends to customer value. Seems like she's struggling to justify herself to the PE team. The company’s private equity backing is evident in every decision—short-term optimization over long-term innovation. There’s constant talk of “scale” and “growth,” but no IPO readiness in sight. They seem to want the valuation of a tech company without building like one. The culture feels like a relic from 2010—top-down hierarchy, heavy politics, and a C-suite dominated by ex-H1 overachievers who mistake micromanagement and endless meetings for leadership. Innovation is not nurtured; it’s suffocated under process and status chasing. If you’re looking to grow or do meaningful work in security or product, this is not the place. Most meaningful technical decisions are overridden by non-technical managers or get stuck in bureaucracy. Teams are directionless. There’s no coherent long-term strategy to align behind, which leads to burnout and attrition.

Dear current DigiCert engineer, Thank you for your honest and deeply considered feedback. We value input from long-tenured team members, especially those who have contributed through multiple stages of growth and transformation. Your perspective, both the strengths that you acknowledged and the concerns you raised, matter a great deal to us. We agree that DigiCert’s core strength in the PKI and certificate space provides a strong foundation, and we're proud of the many capable, committed individuals across the company who make that possible. At the same time, we acknowledge that transformation can create uncertainty, particularly where it concerns vision, communication, and innovation. We are actively working to better connect emerging technologies like AI and quantum readiness to real product outcomes and customer value. This includes strengthening how we communicate roadmaps internally and making room for deeper, more transparent engagement around product strategy. We also recognize the concerns about decision-making, hierarchy, and the need to empower technical voices. Our leadership team is committed to evolving how we operate, including reducing unnecessary layers, improving execution speed, and investing in structures that prioritize innovation and autonomy. These steps are rooted in our CARE values: Customer Obsession, Amazing Innovation, Relentless Execution and Exceptional Collaboration. Culture transformation and sustainable innovation are long-term efforts, and feedback like yours helps us refocus on what matters most. Thank you for continuing to speak up, and for being part of DigiCert during this pivotal stage in our journey. Regards, DigiCert People Team

Just the worst.

Pros

The company used to provide a valuable service to the industry. Now they are just drowning all their debt. Hope everyone gets out before the company goes under.

Cons

Management just wants to sell. The CEO was literally just brought on to sell the company or go public. The CRO just wants to bring on all the former employees from Ping to make them money and fire all the legacy employees.

Dear current DigiCert employee, We could share information about how DigiCert is progressing toward hitting our next key milestone of $1b in ARR or how we just closed our most successful year yet, driven by strong customer demand, operational discipline, and exceptional performance across our teams. The numbers speak for themselves, but we understand that you may feel very differently about the direction of the company than the facts outline. Anyone who has been at DigiCert for several years has seen it evolve from a focus on certificates to a digital trust leader. As the company grows and evolves, things change, and those changes aren't celebrated by everyone. Change can be difficult and, as a company grows shrugs off the start-up persona, it's not always enjoyed by those with longer tenure. But our CEO and leadership has been transparent about our strategy, and regular all-hands meetings and team check-ins provide clear visibility into our performance and priorities. We strongly recommend speaking with your leader for accurate context. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to your leader or a member of the DigiCert People Team to find out more about our current performance and growth. Best, DigiCert People Team

Pros

Good and Kind people in the office

Cons

Very profitable but pays non engineering staff peanuts. They will never know since financials are never shared(private). Why would you pay some people $20 per hr in a multibillion dollar Cashflow. Thats ethically bankrupt Bonus compensation very discriminatory(may be legal but ethically questionable) Try very hard to push low grade employees to be paid per hour to squeeze their pay since they cant cash PTO The place is just obsessed with unnecessary cuts. The board just seems keen on milking the cow but neglects feeding. its hard to find an old engineer. No one seems to care about the cost of turnover. The company has resources to be a mini- google but operates like an economy supermarket. Its simply not sustainable in Ai age they have to invest in people or go symantec way. Cheap is expensive

Dear former DigiCert employee, Thank you for providing a review. Based on your feedback, it seems your experience with DigiCert was not a positive one. While we cannot dispute your experience or feelings, there are several issues you raised that we want to address. You mentioned the bonus plan and its exclusions. All DigiCert employees are included in the bonus plan or commission plans for Sales. We communicate these plans regularly to employees as this has been the case for almost three years at DigiCert. Also, the environment and culture you portray isn’t one that many employees would agree with. In fact, beyond the awards received in Utah, DigiCert has been named a Great Place to Work in Australia, India, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Those are based on employee feedback about culture and environment. We have plans to expand the list of locations we apply for as we work hard to maintain a culture of CARE (Customer Obsession, Amazing Innovation, Relentless Execution and Exceptional Collaboration) that all employees understand and apply to their work. For compensation, we set it based on market rates. We leverage similar-sized companies in our locations and determine pay. We also employ a pay-for-performance approach which means your output impacts your compensation. Lastly, the information about hourly employees is confusing as 93 percent of all global employees are salaried. We would be more than happy to discuss these issues in greater detail with you and provide some clarity on problems you discussed that would give you a better understanding of the facts about what we do, how we operate and how employees are compensated. Please reach out to a member of the DigiCert People Team and we can discuss these areas with you. Regards, DigiCert People Team
