If you have a CS degree or working towards one, it may be tempting to just jump into it so you can "get your foot in the door", but you are better off finding experience elsewhere that will pay you more and teach you more. The benefits are pretty bad. You will not get any PTO, only unpaid time off. This is very hilarious because this basically forces people not to take any time off because you will not get paid if you do, where retail companies actually offer it. For a "tech" company most management should know more and be trained to do the work that you're doing. But a lot of the "management" seems to be proud of not wanting to learn how to program since they seem to be gearing towards shifting automation testing. So there is no mentorship and guidance for new hires and people end up quitting really quick. BTW the turnover rate is pretty high. Upper management can be very overbearing.
