Successful company, great people, can be hard to find your path
Pros
I liked my day to day work while I was employed at DigitalOcean. The people were great and there were some interesting things to work on. I worked on one of the compute product teams and there was plenty of opportunity to think from the users' perspective (e.g. how they would deploy code to it) and the back end's perspective (e.g. how we would scale to the users' deployed workloads and have good observability).
Cons
Unfortunately, there were many products in the lineup at the time I joined and some were given less priority than others. It was like the company was still trying to find its overall direction. I think they overhired for my team, not realizing they'd switch focus from my team's product to other ones. This led to me being laid off. I got generous notice and severance though.
