Pros

The desire to help and share knowledge is something I have never experienced in any of my previous jobs. Was I just unlucky or DO is truly special in this regard?

Cons

I expected to see a little less engineering technical debt for a company of this age and size, but all in all nothing too scary.

I think we are pretty special! Being a deliberatively developmental organization means we share knowledge and help each other learn and grow. That's how we continually raise the bar on performance and impact in a healthy, sustainable fashion. And I agree that like any fast growing technology organization, we have our fair share of technical debt, but it's something we're intentionally working on. I'm glad you're part of the team helping us address it!

Thanks for the helpful feedback. We're growing fast and sometimes that makes it hard to have all the structure we might like, but we're committed to providing the direction and clarity needed to help you be your best. Please continue to let us know how we are doing on that front as we scale.

Pros

Open, honest environment - they care about people as well as products. Fast moving - no time to get bored! Very well set up for remote employees.

Cons

Not much attention has been paid to keeping track of history so when the players change or move on, decisions are often questioned and revisited

You read my mind -- we are growing very quickly, and while that comes with lots of developmental opportunities for employees to move into new roles. sometimes that means we don't support the transition as well as we should. It is something squarely on our team's radar at the moment, and you should expect a lot more support around ensuring folks have clear objectives and development plans when they move into new teams, and managers have all the information they need to effectively support their teams' growth and success. Please keep us accountable for ensuring this happens in a healthy way!
