Pros

Some colleagues are genuine and are just stuck in a bad situation. Benefits are on par with market offerings. 2 Wellness weeks given

Cons

C-Suite execs come across as disingenuous and operating almost like an exclusive club. The company has grown too large for it's own good, and processes were not scaled to keep up with the growth. Middle management seem to be preoccupied with pandering to C-Suite, and not providing genuine solutions to the problems. Teams leaders within the department that I worked for do not seem to get along with each other, and are basically making it hard for regular employees to do their day-to-day work. The last few acquisitions were not integrated properly systems and processes wise. Instead of using what is best practice, acquired companies were simply made to follow the bureaucratic/archaic processes that had not evolved. Many talents from previous acquisitions left/were let go, and what's left are just regular employees trying to make do with what's remained.

Thank you for taking the time to share your candid feedback and for your many years of service to Diligent. We're glad that you had positive interactions with your colleagues — we agree that our team members around the globe are incredibly helpful and supportive. We’re also glad that you enjoyed the Recharge Weeks and benefits. As we continue to grow, we recognize that our increased scale can create challenges. We are working to evolve, improve and scale processes as well as empower our colleagues to manage and align priorities through tools like V2MOMs (our internal goal setting process). It’s our priority to integrate our solutions and teams as seamlessly as possible so we can bring our unified platform to market. To your feedback on management, we’re sorry to hear that this was your experience. It certainly does not align with the inclusive, transparent work culture that we aspire to deliver to all our employees, and we do take the feedback onboard. We are working to create something that hasn’t been created before, and we have huge expectations for what our team can do in the future. We don’t always get it right, but we work together to constantly evolve and move forward to meet our goals. Once again, I want to thank you for your service to Diligent. We appreciate your comments and will take them onboard as opportunities to improve. We wish you the best of luck moving forward. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

Seasoned Company, growing quickly mostly through acquisition. Many perks and celebrations. Generally positive attitude from most colleagues. Culture is generally positive, but requires much work/improvement.

Cons

Little trust in any subordinate to do what they are hired to do. Managers and Directors constantly contradict the experience of professional employees. The culture is more of a 'What will the person I report to accept?" rather than "What's the best/right solution for this problem?". This tends to continue up the chain and results in a "What would Brian (CEO) accept?". This slows down all processes. Almost every position is overworked, which means projects don't get initiated in a timely manner, resulting in all projects being rushed, which contributes to the chaos/overworked culture. Many are expected to work overtime and weekends to accomplish projects. The whole thing is cyclic and requires top down intervention. Senior management are always busy... this is a company that is meeting'd to death. I never felt I could approach a senior person, Director, VP, CEO, and have a candid conversation with them. Whereas at my previous company, all senior staff took time to walk with, and sit amongst, eat lunch with, and generally speak with employees on a day-to-day basis.

Thank you for your review. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the culture, perks and celebrations and the positive attitude of your colleagues. Our people are the beating heart of this organization and without them, we couldn’t make the huge impact that we do when it comes to governance. To the rest of your feedback, we're very sorry to hear that this was your experience at Diligent. It's clear that we could have done more to support you during your time with us. As we continue to grow our business after our recent acquisitions, we are working to evolve and invest in several areas you mentioned. Specifically, we are focused on streamlining and improving processes as well as empowering our colleagues to manage priorities through tools like V2MOMs (our internal goal setting process). Our monthly Town Halls, intranet, Slack Company News channels and regular email updates from ELT have all been designed to improve communications and transparency. However, we recently surveyed the entire organization to learn how they prefer to get communications. A combination of email and Slack came back as the main preferences, so we are actively realigning our communications to flow exclusively through Slack and email. Finally, it's our goal to integrate our solutions and teams as seamlessly as possible so we can bring our unified platform to market for our clients. Any complex integration process can present inherent challenges, but we’re laser focused on continuously improving. We don’t always get it right, but we work together as a team to evolve and move forward to meet our goals. Once again, I want to thank you for your service to Diligent. We appreciate your comments and will take them onboard as opportunities to improve. We wish you the best of luck moving forward. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

We appreciate you taking the time to share your review! We agree, our Vancouver office is fantastic and filled with wonderful, caring colleagues who know how to throw a solid social event! We’re also really glad to hear you find the targets to be attainable and are given the right time to reach them. To your comments on the product, I hope you were able to catch our Chief Product & Strategy Officer’s recent presentation on our Product Vision, Strategy & Execution. If not, I would highly encourage you to watch that via Launchpad and share any thoughts or feedback directly with your manager, member of ELT or the product team. As someone who interfaces with our customers on a daily basis, we always want to hear your ideas about how we can continue to serve them better! If there’s anything else we can do to support you in your role, please don’t hesitate to reach out. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer
