Pros

The company have the resources to make something incredible out of the ideas and planning,

Cons

Senior management thinks more like a sales-driven product and doesn't focus to solve customer issues - the pace is fast - but fast means - there is an unnecessary constant of fire drills creating new things without solving existing problems and streamline the creation of the product. There is a lot of rework and time wasted that makes the team feel tired. Also, the company makes decisions that are not fully transparent to the employees in terms of firing and hiring new and old people. Weird.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We agree that our potential as a company is sky-high, and appreciate your feedback on how to achieve it. We have been implementing comprehensive efforts throughout our business to ensure greater collaboration and alignment across our global teams. These include aligning our Product and Technology teams in the same time zones and organizing commercially around our core geographies, all of which is enabling deeper relationships with clients and enhancing our solutions based on their needs. At the center of these changes is also a commitment to optimizing the Diligent experience for employees. We believe strongly in being highly transparent with our colleagues at all times and providing the maximum information and support we can – and we constantly work to improve our lines of communication. Please don’t hesitate to share further thoughts with us (confidentially if you wish) at hrconfidential@diligent.com. Thank you again for your feedback. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

Used to be a fun place to work. Used to be.

Cons

Shaft incoming in 3...2...1 Diligent used to be an excellent place to work. Everyone around you was as committed as you were, driven and motivated. Management was supportive, initiatives were welcomed, there was a real sense of 'team spirit' - you felt like we were all on the same team, all pulling in the same direction, all trying to get to the same place. About 6 months ago everything changed overnight. From saying "we're all in this pandemic thing together" the CEO turned around and gutted the company. Product and Support got shipped overseas (where it's cheaper - someone should tell him about "fast, cheap, good - pick 2"), product managers who weren't cut loose left of their own accord, tech development got screwed to the extent that the Chinese wall which in well-run software companies exists between Dev and QA (if you need to have the logic for this explained the you're probably Diligent management) was done away with and QA now reports to Development. Go figure. Not that it really matters anymore. Having slashed and burned his own workforce, Diligent's CEO has convinced his backers to give him enough money to make not 1 but 2 acquisitions, dropping $1.3bn+ on the transactions. I wonder if the people who work for the acquired companies (Steele and Galvanize, I'm talking to you) know that Mr. Stafford excels at one thing only, and that's talking out of both sides of his mouth at once. Per Forbes, "We believe that the 2020s-plus will all be around the ethical business and stakeholder capital". Shame that this only extends as far as his front door. Treating his employees ethically, treating them as stakeholder capital, is an alien concept. If I worked for either of these companies I'd be polishing my resume and making a dash for the door. That's certainly what I'm doing.

We appreciate the honest feedback as difficult as it may be to read. As you know we have grown rapidly over the last 4 years and in Q3 of 2020 we decided to pause, reset and make structural changes to position Diligent for our next wave of long-term growth. We recognize this has been challenging for some of our colleagues, and we have strived to be generous and considerate in supporting those impacted. This wasn’t a decision we took lightly, as making such significant changes isn’t something we do regularly, and certainly not in the last 4 to 5 years. We did, however, believe the best path to sustainable growth is to better align our solutions around our clients and connect teams in certain locations to make it easier for our teams to collaborate. And with a focus on the long-term, we also doubled down on increasing the breadth of our solutions through mergers and acquisitions. In any tough decisions we make, we remain long-term focused on what’s best for our clients and employees. Our talented teams are growing with over 150 current open positions. We are dedicated to driving impact for our clients and on shaping the GRC category. We sincerely regret that you believe we missed the bar we work to achieve for our employees’ experiences or that you don’t feel that we are authentic in taking a long-term perspective and our aspiration of building the leader in GRC. You’re invited at any time, if you’re willing, to anonymously share any more specific feedback with us at hrconfidential@diligent.com so we can continue to learn and improve. Pros

- The people I worked with were phenomenal, the culture was just there at a peer level and they were the reason I wanted to come into work everyday and help out. - Received a good commission structure before it all changed towards end of 2020 - Travel (domestic and international) was a huge perk pre-COVID - WFH allowed and encouraged - Free fruit/pizza parties (and alcohol pre-2021) were good perks in the office

Cons

- Managerial transparency is rubbish. - Commission structure changed a few times, and was implemented late with earlier notice being needed - Recently went through a company wide restructure that focused more on the Americas, and severely impacted the APAC region --- Note the restructure was needed, however I believe this is currently still being rolled out as the base level of knowledge from 2020 isnt' there anymore, workload and stress has increased, transparency has decreased even more - not just from top levels, but even interdepartmental confusion - Career progression unfortunately is very stagnant, goalposts are continuously moved.

Thank you very much for your thorough, insightful feedback – we hear and understand all of your comments. We’re proud to be a truly global company, and while our headquarters are located in the US, we have always been committed to investing in employees around the world and fostering flexibility. We miss the ability to see our global colleagues and person and look forward to returning to the ability to travel, hopefully sometime soon. That is a primary reason why several months ago we began making meaningful changes to support our long-term progress – including reorganizing our business units by geography to enable greater regional focus. Throughout our exciting growth in recent years, we have strived to be as transparent and communicative with our colleagues as possible – and we work hard to build open feedback loops for fresh ideas to make our company better. But we recognize we’re not always perfect, and as Diligent continues to achieve greater success, it’s imperative that we continuously improve and keep our ears open to the perspectives of our team. We’ve made progress and will keep pushing forward in this regard. With our growth, there is tremendous opportunity for colleagues to grow in their careers and take on various roles within the organization, and we are actively working on how to further formalize that. Thank you again for your thoughtful comments, and all the best. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer
