Pros

--Pay --Benefits --Good Reputation in the Community --Great Customer Follow Up/Satisfaction --Incentives, bonuses --Good opportunities for the "right" person

Cons

--LONG hours --Unappreciated for 20+ years of service --Job is very physically demanding and if you need surgery or have back, knee, hip, etc.... or other issues as a result, you will be terminated as soon as they are legally able to get rid of you. Too many long time employees have been forced out for this very reason after giving up everything for this company. --Told that because I wanted to see my kids school events/sporting events that I was not dedicated enough despite the fact that I worked 55+ hours every week, was the first person at the store every day, rarely called in sick, missed countless family/school functions. Meanwhile, I had a mgr that left 3-4 times a week to go see his college age son play football and another that would leave to spend time with grandkids, yet my supposed "lack of dedication" was the only negative feedback in my employee review. --The guys that are hard workers, dedicated, don't call in sick seem to be the ones that have been fired, demoted or devalued and have left the company. --Co workers stab you in the back and climb over you to get ahead. --RVP and regional office staff used to at least seem like they genuinely cared about you and your family but that all changed about 4-5 years ago. No time for family, just work faster, longer, harder, smarter. --If you are good and smooth talking RVP's and are creative in getting out of work, this is the place for you!

Pros

Only best thing i could say about this company is that you get great discount on tires and wheels as an employee and the bonuses they give out on the summer and christmas time other than that? NOTHING ELSE!

Cons

This place will work out out NON STOP! managers in general only care about their dumb "UNITS" no units? no hours! go home early! theres always a few lazy coworkers! that means you end up doing all the work! some managers dont know how properly speak to employees! Since you clock in you will be doing rotation and balances non stop like a beast and a lot of flat repairs, FREE rotations for no reason! and so on....store manager all he wants to do is please customer with FREE services. When is downtime you think you can get to relax after working hard? I dont think so go sweap, clean bathrooms, do all kinds of dumb stuff to keep you busy! Start pay sucks.. FL $9 an hr? REALLY!?!? My advice dont waste your time working for discount tire! Im GLAD i quit this job a few days ago and i thought i share my experience there, you think im playing? Go apply and find out for yourself then. Theres no full time jobs! ONLY managers get full time, you will start as a part time tire tech no benefits! No vacations paid! NO holiday pay!. Some managers just stay up front doing nothing especially when is slow time they just sit there and expect for you to be doing something.
