Pros

Safety culture is undeniably effective. Upper Management is extremely supportive and does a good job communicating their vision/expectations for those below. Great pay and benefits (sick time / FMLA). You are treated as a human being, not just a number or a cog in the production wheel. Team atmosphere and camaraderie while working on shift. After intense training program, actual day to day job is relatively easy. Management is supportive of continuing along Operations track for talented individuals. People at the plant will do anything and everything they can to help you if you ever get sick or have a family crisis.

Cons

Shift work is difficult, long hours/work schedule during outages will destroy any work life balance you have for a few months, slow on succession planning, following advice given for career advancement isn't actually how they promote people. Not a ton of space/areas to be innovative given the nuclear industry's strict regulations.
