Pros

Working for Dominion Energy has been a fulfilling experience, thanks to several notable advantages. As a significant player in the energy industry, the company's prominence in power generation, transmission, and distribution provides a sense of stability and ample opportunities for career growth. The diverse job opportunities across various industry segments cater to different skills and interests. Dominion Energy's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility aligns with my values, contributing to a more sustainable future. The comprehensive employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans, reflect the company's dedication to employee well-being. Additionally, the emphasis on training and development, community engagement programs, exposure to innovative technologies, and a strong safety culture all contribute to a positive and enriching work environment. Being part of Dominion Energy has offered a well-rounded and rewarding professional experience.

Cons

While there are notable strengths at Dominion Energy, there are also some drawbacks that impact the overall work experience. One significant concern lies in the management practices, where there appears to be a lack of clear direction and effective communication. The absence of seamless communication between departments has created challenges, leading to inefficiencies and hindering collaborative efforts. Additionally, the company's tendency towards frequent and seemingly arbitrary changes, particularly in the aftermath of past acquisitions, has been a source of frustration. These changes often lack a coherent rationale, causing employee confusion and potentially disrupting established workflows. Addressing these issues related to management communication and strategic changes would contribute to a more cohesive and efficient work environment at Dominion Energy.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and well crafted review. I also want to thank you for the work you do in our communications group. As things shift with our business and industry, which has certainly been the case these past several years, communication plays such a strong role in centering the company and reiterating the main reason we come to work, and that's to provide power to our customers and neighbors. That being said, your point regarding stronger communication strategies, especially during times of change, is an important one. I have shared this insight with senior leaders within the organization as we work to enhance business related elements moving forward. I would also encourage you to include this insight on any employee surveys and/or directly with your leadership. Again, the work you do here is greatly appreciated and I thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We have a lot of work going on and your role will be immensely helpful in fostering a strong cohesive message for our workforce, now and in the future. Stay safe!

Our student employment team works very hard to make sure our interns and co-op students have a positive and rewarding expereince, so this is great to hear. Hope you keep us in mind for the next round of internship openings and when you start considering full time employment. Thanks again!
