Fast paced Lots of autonomy at the director level Interesting business opportunities Pays relatively well

Cons

Business has been built with no foundation and a singular focus on growth, leaving an operational mess and so much technical debt. Management has no interest in long term bets - if it doesn’t translate to intra-quarter top-line growth, they aren’t interested Spend too much time managing executive communications and massaging the narrative for CEO staff Very much a results first, people second culture. Burnout is a given Can be super political. Can’t have straightforward conversations.

Pros

Its been 3 months since I joined and am very pleasantly surprised with overall culture of the company. Seems that Doordash hires very high quality folks so its quite easy to work with various teams. Almost everyone is fully invested in the accomplishing company's goals. Even though most of us are remote slack channels and zoom keeps us close. To top it all off people have humility - a great quality. Looking forward to a long future here.

- Incredibly bright coworkers - You're given the room to think strategically and not stuck in tactical work - Great total comp.

Cons

- Outside of equity, the benefits are lack luster - No 401K match program - Education stipend is embarrassing low - WLB is low as it is a typical SF cut-throat company
