Pros

- Smart people, who work really hard (but ultimately aren't given the support needed to succeed). - Competitive base pay

Cons

- BEWARE, when you interview, they will only have employees that are completely sold on the 'kool aid' chat with you - so don't be shocked if no one you talk to has any real concerns about DoorDash. But please know there are SO MANY people who hate working for DoorDash, but have stayed to make money during the IPO. - DoorDash is fast paced, which is as to be expected in any start-up. However, it becomes a problem when goaling changes multiple times per quarter ,making it difficult to achieve any real progress - but you're still expected to delivery on the new OKRs. - Weird culture where if you surface any problems/challenges you're having you're told that you're the problem and if you don't like it you can leave. Managers know that employees are burnt out but make not real effort to make improvements. Most 'attempts' at improving culture and WLB only lead to more work for employees. - No consideration given to employees during COVID or the mess that was 2020. The company continued to operate like nothing unusual was happening (forgot the protesting, widespread depression, or the fact that thousands of people were dying). - DoorDash pretends they care about POC, but its mostly lip service. They refused to give employees Juneteenth off because they can't give everyone the days off that they consider important = incredibly tone deaf. -Questionable ethics abound. -Lastly, most dream of being at a company when it IPOs. Our 'celebration' gift included a hat, blanket, and Yeti. Not exactly what I was expecting after years of hard work, especially when our founders became billionaires. Perhaps you should learn to appreciate your employees more rather than treat them as commodities.
