Pros

-Unlimited PTO that management actually cares about you using (however, I know other departments aren't so good with this) -WLB (below SM level) is pretty good -Really smart, helpful, friendly teammates -Because we're building the plane as it flies, you really do get your hands dirty and are able to gain experience quickly. The joke is 1 year at DD is 3 years elsewhere (this could also be seen as a con depending)

Cons

-Unlike most tech companies that focus on product and engineering, DD is more focused on efficiency and thus gives too much power to S&O. S&O will be the one dictating product/feature launches and updates needed, giving direction to other orgs based on direction they get from Tony, etc. -Went through layoffs to reduce top heavy teams, remove redundant workers if someone on their team could also do the work (at a cheaper cost), and remove employees working on deprioritized areas. Then also went through reorgs that were meant to make it easier to work with the S&O-oriented nature of the company. So far, it doesn't seem to be helping and it seems like general morale is quite low (unless you came out "on top") -DD doesn't invest in building a leveled team. Most teams across all departments even outside marketing are a director, ton of senior managers, a couple managers (though a lot got laid off), and then maybe some associates/senior associates. Because of this lack of leveling, SMs tend to do more work than their junior counterparts because they're strategizing plus also having to act as ICs...which also leads into the next con -DD doesn't invest in internal promotion. Because teams are so top heavy (even after the layoffs), Senior Managers aren't able to get promoted, which leaves little room for Managers to get promoted, so on and so on. It is easiest to be promoted to Manager and any level below but that's it. Additionally, whenever new positions do open up, leadership seems to play hot potato moving around existing Directors vs. promoting people into those roles. This was also seen during the reorg when multiple new hires were brought in and (again) Directors were moved around vs. promoting from within. Because of this, you see a lot of really talented individuals leave within a year. There was a lot of attrition among talented leaders this past year. -Because DD doesn't invest in internal promotion, although a majority of coworkers are lovely people, you will find a lot of SMs/Directors will try to take credit for work to get a leg up for promotions/internal moves. Again, if DD actually cared to grow your career and set clear pathing in place for how to get to the next level, there would probably be less of this. -Because we are S&O focused on efficiency who just want things done yesterday, we have too many (broken) systems surrounding customer/merchant data and more, making it hard to properly analyze information to inform decisions -No 401K matching or bonuses

Pros

None I can think of.

Cons

Not sure where to begin. Total disconnect between leadership and employees, high turnover, false promises, no chance for promotion or growth, company culture is abysmal. You feel as though your voice is not heard/valued at all when working here. Unfortunately like most major corporations you are treated more like a number and not a person, which is very unfortunate.
