Pros

I was formally disciplined (Written Up) during my first week for assisting law enforcement in a life-or-death emergency involving a missing person. I had access to helpful information through a DoorDash-related system and used my best judgment. Every second mattered. I truly believed I was doing the right thing — something any compassionate human would do. Instead of receiving understanding, I was told I had violated policy and was nearly terminated. 9 months later, with nearly perfect QA scores and metrics, and an hour before a 2nd round interview for a promotion that I had been prepping for for a week, where they required a visual and a presentation, I was let go (immediate termination) for something even more absurd. During a brief visit to the office when I had forgotten something there the week before, a friend who accompanied me needed to use the restroom. I asked the front desk for directions they said I would need to go upstairs to use the bathroom, but I couldn't badge my friend upstairs because I hadn't applied for a guest pass. The lobby is shared by other companies and is owned and managed by The Grand who Doordash leases the upper floors from. The lobby is accessible to all building tenants — not restricted, not secured, not labeled as company-only. Knowing the upper levels have sensitive info I let my friend into the vacant lobby gym bathroom, NOT A SERVER ROOM or anywhere that info could be leaked. The gym is shared with all the companies in the plaza. There was no malicious intent, no breach of data, and no harm done. Just a human being using a restroom after being told there were no other options. Instant termination, for using a toilet. Officially I was told I had violated their global security policies by letting a non employee into a badged area.

Cons

If you’re considering working here, ask yourself: Do you want to work for a company that values rigid protocol over people? Where even doing the right thing can end your job? Independent thinking is not rewarded — even in urgent or ethical situations. There is zero tolerance for nuance or gray area; all missteps are treated like violations. Policy is prioritized over basic human decency. The environment is fear-based, not growth-based. For context: The job pays $21.50/hr. The expectations are sky-high, and the pressure is intense.

Pros

Sometime you get to work on impactful projects to help forward DoorDash or help fix key issues with the app

Cons

Overall, team members report a lack of regular, concrete feedback—relying instead on vague peer reviews—and the loss of a proactive leader has left a persistent guidance gap. Clear ownership and expectations are missing, and day‑to‑day work is consumed by low‑impact support tasks rather than strategic initiatives. Frequent, unexpected departures have normalized instability, and the exit process omits meaningful leadership engagement. With too few junior staff, senior team members are forced into routine work, and recent restructuring—adding multiple director layers and organizing personnel into “pods”—has sown confusion, as many view these changes as arbitrary head‑count moves rather than thoughtfully defined role adjustments. Additionally, the promotion process is opaque and politicized, with unclear criteria and perceived favoritism eroding morale.
