      Little fish in a big pond, but I can't complain

      Pros

      Great work/life flex time. Being an office worker I have tge opportunity to work from home if I need to. I'm given alot of autonomy on how to accomplish the team goals, which is a good thing, since downsizing has left the knowledge base pretty thin. After we were bought by DOW, our health benefits cost much less.

      Cons

      DOW creates procedures for everything. Coming from a Customer-centric organization, it is very hard to get anything done quickly, which is very frustrating. This huge conglomeration that bought us out just doesn't understand the need for urgency in the semicnductor industry. The shortage of workers doesn't help.

      Pros

      Excellent experience. You will learn SAP, and you will control all of the production at one or more chemical plants. Very high level of responsibility.

      Cons

      Threat of outsourcing, low pay scale, limited upward mobility, management doesn't understand what the production scheduler does.

      Pros

      Global company with deep geographic reach. over 120 years old, so there is a lot of history. If you like small town living . . . Dow Chemical is the place for you.

      Cons

      Management by power and fear is the name of the game. The good, ole boys club is alive and well at Dow Chemical. Promotions go to who you know and what leader you are aligned to.
