      Focus on the people to help them get their work done and not restructuring every single Management change.

      Pros

      People at Dow are wonderful. Lots of opportunities and work that needs to get done from lower to higher levels. Culture is relaxed and people are very helpful if they are available. A very team oriented environment with some great leaders. Safety and people are always first.

      Cons

      A lot of work with no pay raises and bonuses at time. Management likes to restructure every single time we change management. Not a lot of people who have a lot of time to do all the work and opportunities to get the work done. Meetings upon meetings upon meetings. How do you get anything done?

      Pros

      Career Opportunities, they do an outstanding job of promoting from within. Dow has an outstanding employee development process, and uses a performance management process to determine top talent within the company. These process always employees to determine the level of success that they want to acheive within the company.

      Cons

      Dow does not truly care about the "human element" as much as they say. Senior management seems to only make decisions that benfit themselves the most. If Senior Management cared more about their current employees Dow would be an outstanding place to work.

      Pros

      Dow is one of the companies that you can spend your whole career at a single site or not. It is up to you. Safety is very important to Dow. You will find plenty of safety project and environmental projects to do to keep you occupied.

      Cons

      Dow does not pay for performance. They have taken away all their competitive advantage on the gulf coast with the exception of a few. More work, less people. More EH&S requirements that only one site has to do while the other sites with a worse performance are required to do less.
