      Pros

      Dow Chemical has good benefits. They work to make engineer compensation competitive in the Texas gulf coast. There are many talented folks at Dow who work hard to be the best in their field. Dow also supports flexible work schedules and the ability to work from "remote offices".

      Cons

      There are a lot meetings. You can easily fill a week with nothing but communication meetings. However, you can choose your level of involvement. There can also be a lot of bureaucracy when trying to get small projects under-way.

      Pros

      Communication and collaboration between employees and supervisors is great - the "human element" truly is exemplified at Dow. The work-life balance is great, I can easily work a flexible schedule and take Fridays off or leave early during the week if necessary.

      Cons

      While there is a great opportunity to move around within such a large company, upward movement is slow.

      Pros

      Good well rounded training. A good place to start a career. Good exposure to many areas.

      Cons

      Slow advancement and advancement is limited to only a few individual with good political connections. Roving managers that are only looking for their next positions. They do not care about the local businesses. Look at building businesses, not just launching a huge business all at once.
