Pros

The company is not what it used to be.

Cons

Many of the perks of working at Dow were taken away during recent years. These benefits include stock options, feeding the employees during pit stops and shutdowns, exceedingly flexible work schedules, team building events once or twice a year, ease of transitioning to other jobs and superior leadership. Leadership actively practices ageism.

Pros

I learned a lot of new skills and was able to buff my resume with a well respected company within the industry. Pay is good. Severance packages are very good.

Cons

Plant will be shut down in 2019 so everyone is being laid off. Management seems like they sit in enough meetings through the day to run a plant efficiently, yet this plant is super inefficient. There is no direction, or true leadership. Some of the brighter employees are looked down upon in lieu of not stirring the pot with the more senior employees.

Pros

Good pay, generally good work environment. Interesting problems to solve with interesting technology.

Cons

Very bureaucratic, middle management initiates many non-value-added activities to look good.
