      Pros

      Opportunity to work with great people, excellent benefit and work-life balance. Dow offers 9-80 or 4-10 schedule along with 5-8. I have nothing but only great thing to say about Dow.

      Cons

      Using force ranked for evaluation can be troublesome for some cases. Many times, force ranked method could be biased to people who are responsible for bigger projects compare to one who might be responsible for multiple small projects.

      Pros

      "Trial by fire" lets you see and do a lot of things, gaining the knowledge and respect you need to be effective at the role. There is a lot to do, but there is freedom to chose more interesting projects as they come up.

      Cons

      "Trial by fire" means work-life balance can be impossible. When a few weeks of extra unpaid, uncommensated over time turns into a few months, it can wear on you and SOs. Training is mostly internet-based. Peer help is limited because no one seems to have time to teach or discuss. Timelines are not realistic.

      Pros

      Great opportunities to learn new skills..if you show enthusiasm, play by the rules and willing to work exhaustive hours and provide the company with real dollar returns, you will be rewarded with even more opportunities to try new skills, more work, higher expectations. How much energy do you have? You will require all of it to maintain your job for an entire career. Co-workers were great, a lot of collaboration across departments. High emphasis on safety

      Cons

      They want all of your life. Don't even think about work life balance. Back in the day, benefits were much better and worth sticking it out but there's no guarantee of that happening. Restructurings happen every 3 - 5 yrs. The new 'pension' plan adopted in 2008 accrues imaginary points (not dollars) that will be valued... later. Projects were often fast tracked to the point of failure.
