Pros

The company is friendly towards its employees and tries to maintain a work/life balance. There is crunch time, but this mostly seems to affect the artists and not the software developers or other support staff. You get to see your name in movie credits as well!

Cons

Software project scheduling and organization has room for improvement. However, missed deadlines do not automatically result in overtime, as management understands the complexity of the software used to create the movies.

Pros

DreamWorks Animation is an incredible place for diversity among artists. There is definitely not a lack of inventory of projects to work on. The culture is highly energetic and one of a collaborative nature. Employees take an extreme amount of pride in their work and strive for excellence.

Cons

There are three studio locations and it is difficult to get recognized for your individual accomplishments. Once of the greatest challenges is the lack of guidance for an individual's career path. Once you're in a role, it's difficult to transition into other areas that you might be interested in or have realized during your employment that your strength lies in another area than the one you're currently in.
