Pros

I honestly can't think of anything other than the fact that you make your own schedule. That's about it

Cons

This has been one of the worst companies I have ever worked for in my entire life. Hourly rate is so low that I cannot afford to live on my own. I have to stay with my parents because of the lack of a decent salary. Unpaid admin work. Accepting and reporting work results. Unpaid printouts even though company requires you to print out your instructions. There are no perks to working for Driveline at all--except being their wage slave. This is also supposed to be a part time position but I have found myself to be working on projects 60 and 70 hours a week without any overtime pay.

Pros

I'm fairly certain there are none.

Cons

I've only been hired a week or two and am just doing my first project tomorrow. Their online job board is a joke. You get very little information about a project until after you accept it...even a start time for team projects is not known until after you accept the project. Pay is at the very low end of what merchandisers in this area make - $10/hr. Yet, the amount of work that they expect you to do off the clock is extraordinary in comparison to any other retail merchandising company I've ever worked for. After you factor in all the lengthy e-mails you are required to read and react to within a short period of time and the time that you are supposed to spend contacting team leads to find out what time to be at a store, plus the time that you spend planning for a project --reading the project instructions before you go to the store, printing everything you need, and driving to the various locations--what you end up getting paid is way less than the legal minimum hourly wage. In fact, it's probably pretty darn near free labor after you add in the cost of internet usage, printer ink, paper and fuel. Further, this is a part-time position. Being a part-time position (with basically negative pay), it would be understandable that the merchandisers would need to have other jobs. I have several and all the other companies that I do merchandising for fit just fine in my schedule and I can work them all around each other. Driveline insists that I have a set number of hours available each day in the workstation and that I then should accept every single project that they want someone to do at a specified time during those available hours. You do not have a way to indicate your availability day-by-day. Instead, you have to say that every Monday, you are available from ___ to ____. Every Tuesday, from ____ to ____. etc. Obviously, there are going to be conflicts. When conflicts arise, I find that there is no way to get out of a project. It's only a matter of time for most people to end up not being able to meet a project start time. In fact, I'm going to be a "no show" on a project on my first day. I'll probably just quit while I'm still ahead (about 4 hours of unpaid work so far between all the e-mails and scheduling nonsense).

Pros

Most of the time you can make your own schedule.

Cons

Communication from management is poor at best! No reimbursement for paper or ink and they want you to print everything even though they have a smartphone app. They'll hire anyone and then wonder why their employees do crappy work. The milage rate is low too. The hours are unsteady. One week you'll have 4 hours the next week you'll have 24. If you need a steady predictable income then this is not the job for you! I could go on but just hear my warning........ Don't bother working for this company!
