Horrible company to work for

Pros

Met some great people, but that is not enough. There are too many horrible things to list, but basically this company wants you to work like a slave without fair compensation. The people who fancy themselves authority figures are morons.

Cons

This is a horrible company to work for. If you went to school and have a license, this job is beneath you. You will make more money at SuperCuts. The managers know that this is as far as they will ever go in life, so their way of feeling accomplished is by talking down to and mistreating staff, or commissioning one of their incompetent receptionists to do so on their behalf. Here's a tip: by mistreating the stylists, you are biting the hand that feeds you, because the work we do with our hands is what actually brings in the money. No matter how many fake corporate drones you have to write reviews about what a "wonderful" company this is, word has gotten out. The majority of your employees hate you. The blow-dry bar trend may not be dead yet, but truly talented people will not put up with the crap you guys offer, and your turnover will remain high. In your recruiting propaganda you claim to want to be like Nordstrom, well here is another tip: Nordstrom not only rolls out the red carpet for their customers, they are amazing toward their staff. In any customer service environment, happy service providers deliver great service. Not to mention Nordstrom actually pays their employees a fair wage. I'll have a good laugh when I hear about the first wave of lawsuits against this awful company.

Pros

Few friends I made but most of them are not even there anymore you see new faces almost every week it's that bad!

Cons

So funny how the positive reviews are from the corporate or the management! The Stylists are the ones making you money! Without them this company is nothing! Where do I start? -No scheduled breaks, they make you sign a waiver at hiring process to give up your break on a six hour shift, they are constantly overbooked and understaffed, turnover is very high! Like all the other staff said it's a blow dry sweat shop! Do not waste your hard earned cosmetology license by working here! -The management tolerates clients who are rude to stylists/bartenders! What's worse? They complain, you get a bad rating on that stupid "rate your blowout" and they give free blowout to that client, a lot of people are trying to get freebies! Retail stores and restaurants kicks out and even ban bad customers, why do drybar do the opposite? because all they care about is the money. Oh and those reviews that is being responded by the "Owner" on Yelp? only idiots would think it's the owner responding. Nobody is tarnishing this company's image but the company itself. Why don't you spend a day as a Stylist in one of the shops?

Opportunities Galore!!

Pros

-Encourages Individuality -Crazy opportunities for more money! Can you do Up-tinis (updos)? more money. Sell Products? more money. Braid? more money. -The culture is Outstanding! -Fun is a must, and Drybar offers an amazing set up to have fun! (cute movies on tv at all times!!) -They keep snacks for staff in the back….need I say more? -Respected as a stylist -Fantastic way to do one thing, and be the best at it, as well as improving styling skills!

Cons

-You will be required to carry your weight. That does mean working very hard at times, but that also means more money. -Some days it's very hard to get a shift covered, but the company is really not to blame as that is an issue with the stylists. :) -The hourly pay is rather low, but with all the opportunities to cash in…it ends up pretty great.
