Pros

I guess you get Duke on your resume? My coworkers were awesome too.

Cons

Hope you or your kids don’t get sick! Even with 6 call outs per year, doctors notes don’t count. They say the pay is so low because the benefits make up for it. You’re lucky to get bare minimum benefits. Management discourages travel nursing yet would highly prefer to hire them than retain their current staff by paying them what is standard for the area or what’s fair. The cost of living has gone up like crazy in the last few years, yet they still try to pay us nothing.

Underpaid and overworked.

Pros

Good and cheap healthcare benefits.

Cons

Duke underpays all of its employees. Leadership does not listen to the people who actually do the work. It’s like pulling teeth to try to get any kind of change/improvement done.
