Pros

Duke University Health System offers access to up-to-date practices in medicine. Duke offers basic benefits for staff and many people stay for their entire careers.

Cons

Duke's pay is low in comparison with other organizations and, in many cases, there is little opportunity for advancement. Once a staff member is doing well in a position, there is no sense of moving ahead. That person stays in that position without advancement.

Pros

This is great place when you are fresh out of school. Their respiratory department will do a 6 month orientation with didactic days for continuing education. Its a great experience

Cons

The pay is not as high as some of the other local hospitals, but the work culture is well worth the pay differential
