Management does not value employees
Pros
Lab is close to highways and easy commute.
Cons
The employee healthcare contribution for a family is close to $20,000. Management only contributes about $150 a month towards your health plan. Year end bonuses are only $25 gift cards (not even enough to buy a tank of gas). Then the corporate secretary will take a collection to give a gift back to the owner. They hardly turn on the heat or airconditioner unless you are a manager. The owner walks around the building with a log book to make sure no one messes with the thermostats. No lie, it can get close to 80 degrees in the summer. Employees are told not to complain about it no matter how uncomfortable they are. Management buys their equipment from auctions from companies that are going out of business. The equipment is old and always breaking. Raises are only 2% for very good year end reviews. Don't be surprised if you dont get a raise though. All managers are related to eachother as its a family run business. Those who are not related to the Frascas are still related to somebody, usually another manager. There's no room for serious advancement. They will work you to death, promise more changes are coming to fix the issues, but that will never happen. They snooze problems until they absolutely have to deal with them. Change is not really welcome. Employee input is often turned down because management feels they know what is best. They are really there because they are related to someone, not because they are good at their jobs. You really have to kiss up to people to be valued here. Jobs skills are not that important. Anyone who strokes their egos are the ones are liked. At the end of the day, they will support whatever decision puts more money in their pockets without regard for employees mental health, stress level, comfort or happiness. Either that is an indication of excessive greed or an indication that they are having problems financially keeping things afloat. Either way, it is not good.
