Pros
PTO is okay, you can take your breaks and lunches whenever you want. Job itself is fairly easy. Overtime is pretty abundant when it looks like it would be needed.
Cons
Company is slow in responding to issues pertaining to broken or severely worn out equipment. The lab is poorly organized, and terribly insulated from cold or hot weather. Management makes poor decisions on certain aspects of the job in my department. The department occasionally is very busy, yet management thinks it's a good idea to send employees to other departments, creating a situation of artificial busy-ness for those that continue working in the department. Some co-workers make poor use of their time and management does nothing about it. Management is also way too beholden to corporate. Despite management occasionally voicing their concerns to us about issues they have with corporate, they don't do anything to loudly voice their concerns to corporate for things they know to be wrong. They have more power to make changes, but they don't use it. They make it difficult and inconvenient for those of us who come in before the business opens, as not everyone has access to a key to the lab this year. Starting my 3rd year and not a single raise, yet there's plenty of money for overtime. Benefits are also costly for what they offer.
