ESS reviews about "training"

Low pay, benefits are available, but not great and you pay for them. No paid time off. A lot of training and classes required.

Very disorganized, no training - you were to figure it out on your own. And when you ask then you were looked at like you didn't understand the job.

Sometimes your assignment can get canceled. Which can be inconvenient to you say if you have another job and you told them you were working and all of a sudden your assignment gets canceled. During the summer the it is very slow assignments are very few. As of yet I only was able to accept one summer school assignment. Say if that is your primary income that could be bad for you.

No incentives. Low salary, no professional training, no opportunity to advance.

(You learn dos and don'ts via word of mouth) *Too many employees assigned to one supervisor—very little contact or actual supervision given to individual employees. *No information given about child's abilities prior to assignment. (I understand there are legal reasons, but maybe a week before school meet up is in order.) *Supervisors do not know (or know very little) individual students being cared for by hired staff. *Little understanding about taking days off (when this is a position designed to have substitutes readily available.) *Little urgency to find substitutes if one does not fill the slot. *20 hours of outside training required each year to continue working for MisisonOne (besides online modules, nothing is provided or suggested. You're pretty much on your own.) *No performance-based raises offered. *Employees feel like warm bodies rather than valued professionals.

Lack of sufficient support from management. Lack of enough training. Many times you don't know what you'll face when you arrive in the classroom. One problem with classroom management, even noise level, and the school can eliminate you.

Very poor communication throughout the company. I encountered a situation this year where I was accused of something I said that wasn't true, and the company sided with the accuser (a student) and did no further investigation. I was sent information by e-mail about the complaint and was told I could inquire further by calling . I did exactly that and the person I contacted neither responded nor attempted to respond further . It has left a bad taste in my mouth. This company will claim that sometimes a school will deem someone a bad fit, but its simply not the case. When the majority of schools that you did work for want your personal number for contact, then something doesn't add up on the company's end.
