      Corporate Nepotism at it's Finest

      1. Great team of coworkers who are very passionate and knowledgable in fitness, exercise and nutrition. 2. Client base is terrific to train and work with, they bring great energy and enthusiasm to each fitness class. 3. Good entry level job with a consistent 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri schedule.

      Cons

      1. Very Weak Leadership and Management Team; most of the managers at our site have been promoted strictly due to the fact that they have been with EXOS and Mark Verstegen (the founder) since they beginning and have showed undying loyalty to the brand. This makes it very difficult to establish communications let alone growth opportunities if your ideas or methodologies do not match the companies. It is common to be placed on a DO NOT HIRE or DO NOT PROMOTE list if you rub your manager the wrong way by simply speaking your mind. In addition, my feelings are mirrored by the site wide exodus of coaches that have left . In 2017, we hired 7 new coaches at our site and currently only 1 is still with the company. Please do not be impressed when their recruiters call and tell you the story that the company is growing and that they are hiring like crazy, this is simply due to the fact that the company continually needs to hire to fill in lost positions. 2. Low Pay; this has been repeated with many other reviews so I will not go into it too much but be aware that the 'honors award program' that the company spouts is rarely used and very hard to achieve. You would have to invent the 'squat' exercise all over again and still would only receive a few hundred dollars (less than 500).

In the past 3 years, you've been witness to the rapid growth we've experienced both organically and through acquisition. With company growth, comes refinement. We are creating new programs and opportunities to foster growth within EXOS to aide in the development of our team members. The EXOS Honors program is one way to highlight the great work and impact within our team. We've given away thousands of awards to date and hope to ramp this up even more in the months and years to come. This review states that you are currently an active employee, if this holds true, we want you to know that we encourage respectful dialog between a team member and their manager. In the event a team member does not feel comfortable speaking to their direct manager about a topic or concern, our people operations business partners are here to support.

      Pros

      - Continuing education reimbursement - Stable job (based on contract) - Opportunity to teach classes and personal train without pressure to sell, unlike a commercial fitness center.

      Cons

      - Limited opportunities for advancement - Your experience with EXOS will be very site specific. Some sites have more janitorial & administrative duties. Others will have more emphasis on classes and working with clients. Depending on your preferences, this is either a pro or a con. - If you have a small team (2-3 FT), you may have difficulty finding help for your shift if there is not an adequate pool of subs.
