Pros

The members and clients you get to train and interact with is great. You get a lot of insight on what works and doesn't work with certain clients. This can be on how they think about fitness to certain exercises they can and cannot do. You get the opportunity to train a special range of clients from potential athletes to general population to people with special conditions such as Heart Disease, Diabetes, and more. Overall the staff is great and truly end up forming a bond with them which is great. It can be a great opportunity to network and meet great friends.

Cons

The pay structure makes almost zero sense. They changed it for trainers now that, we get a raise every two years instead of one (makes sense right...). So it really diminishes the drive to stay long term with the company. Another issue that killed my drive is that we have a certain "goal" to achieve each month with sessions performed (how many training sessions you do per month), yet if you achieve there is zero incentive given to you for your efforts. Yes you will get paid more for the more sessions you do but there is zero reward for getting that goal. You would think that being a trainer at this company, someone who motivates people to achieve a certain goal and feel rewarded, you get rewarded for the efforts. Hard work pays off but apparently here it doesn't. The turnover rate is absurd also. There are pizza shops I worked at in college had less turnover rate than this place. There is a severe lack of communication within the company too. We are hardly approach about formulating new ideas and programs until later on which can be frustrating. Other Cons: Crazy hours Crappy benefits Zero Prospective management has on facility

Pros

Management cared about you improving, pay was better than comparable companies/positions, clear structure and hierarchy

Cons

Demand for excellence is very high. If you are not the type to improve, or be great in your field this company may not be for you.

Pros

- Continuing education reimbursement - Stable job (based on contract) - Opportunity to teach classes and personal train without pressure to sell, unlike a commercial fitness center.

Cons

- Limited opportunities for advancement - Your experience with EXOS will be very site specific. Some sites have more janitorial & administrative duties. Others will have more emphasis on classes and working with clients. Depending on your preferences, this is either a pro or a con. - If you have a small team (2-3 FT), you may have difficulty finding help for your shift if there is not an adequate pool of subs.
