Pros

None. Unless you're new to the United States and the accounting profession. No good reasons to work for E&Y if your an administrative employee--at all.

Cons

The only ones promoted or encouraged are client serving and accounting/tax/consulting individuals. I think they take advantage and recruit highly from foreign countries so they don't have to pay new personnel as much--especially staff.

Pros

Big name, you will gain credibilty in the market having worked for any big-4, including E&Y. Expect to move on to bigger and better things, given 3-4 years of solid experience at this firm. But you have to move, internally only a few opportunities are there for people who strave to be partner. For that you have to be good at selling.

Cons

Limited opportunites in the firm, you must be sales oriented to survive long enough to make it to partner and make the big bucks, otherwise you will be under-compensated big time.

Pros

Provides clear direction and sets realistic goals. Strong communication skills with team and leadership.

Cons

May micromanage instead of trusting the team. Can struggle with delegating tasks effectively. Inconsistent follow-up or accountability.
