Pros
You admittedly learn a lot. You will be forced (under the whip) to improve your self-management and organization skills Most people who work here in my experience are smart and quite nice (they stick together in desperation). In my experience, managers/bosses overall are competent and fair, albeit often rude. If you see this as a short-term, how-to-work bootcamp training, I would recommend it.
Cons
This is total exploitation. You will be “strongly encouraged” to work absurd amounts of hours, to completely disregard your private life and there’s a good chance you will encounter rude, impatient managers with unreasonable expectations. This is NOT a place for you if you want any vestige of work/life balance. Overtime is not paid. They compensate it on a best-effort basis (when it suits them). Pay is low. They give you micro raises every year to keep you on the rat race. Bonus is low or non-existant. Poor benfits. Employee discount page with products offered at a 50% discount on 2x the price found at any other retailer. Many of my colleagues have developed mental health issues during busy seasons. So have I. This is seen as a normal part of business and burn outs as collateral damage. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS. Busy seasons last several months and this CAN have an impact in your physical and mental health.
