Pros
The comeraderie is great in some areas. Maintaining professional relations to ensure professional courtesy is one of the perks. Lower level management are accessible, compassionate, and down to earth.
Cons
Interdepartmental communication and respect are poor. Annual cost of living raises are a joke. It's made to seem that they are merit-based, but they aren't, so high-functioning staff receive the same rate of raise as their lower-producing counterparts. Senior management is lofty; there are too many inaccessible chiefs who don't understand what their staff's jobs actually are.
