Needs Improvement Supporting Teachers

Pros

Not a lot of micromanagement. Can be a good place for someone who wants to do everything themself. You will learn to do many many things.

Cons

Virtually no support at all. Almost any request for help is met with advice, not help. You will have to do everything yourself or learn to not be bothered by things not getting better. Someone who has difficulty learning and doing things constantly, during leisure time at home and lunch breaks during the day, will have a very hard time here. Very few teachers here have a healthy work life balance. There is a culture that promotes this as the norm.

Good Benefits, in the teachers union

Pros

Good benefits, nice co-workers, salary so you’re paid when off, part of the teachers union and receive pension upon retirement.

Cons

Pay could be better, certain teachers and speech teachers tend to disregard your background and act like they know it all and you know nothing as far as what’s best for the kids, even if you’re a college grad and have experience.

OK job but Administration needs to pay more attention

Pros

Most of my co-workers were great to work with. I felt like I was making a difference in a student's life.

Cons

Administration needs to pay more attention to what goes on in the schools. The office staff was not always friendly or helpful and the school principal hardly came out of her office and did not know her own employees or student's names.
