Variety of opportunites, lateral and vertical movement opportunites, continuining education, world class training, moderate work life balance, world experts available for help/mentorship, many volunteer opportunities are encouraged on a coorporate level

Cons

New management has created tension and unease among employees as job security is questioned, management is not well trained at coaching and development, there is a percieved sense of obligation and duty at Eastman that can negatively influence your feelings about the work

Eastman is focused on being a safe place to work -- you'll hear a lot about our commitment to safety once you work here. Eastman is also known for being a stable employer. We have a reputation for being a community- and family-friendly company. Eastman is known for being a good place to work. The salary and benefits are competitive, and that's before you take in to account the low cost of living in northeast TN. There are lots of job opportunities, so you can pick-up a variety of experiences during your career. Eastman people work together and look out for each other.

Cons

I agree with the other comments regarding Eastman being hierarchical. I'm sure all companies are like this though, wherein promotions can seem to be based more on who you know than what you do. Eastman _does_ believe in slow and steady promotions and salary increases, however, your compensation is always fair/competitive.

Pros

Eastman Chemical is a good company that provides good pay for the area in east Tennessee. I work with a great work family and enjoy a flexible work schedule.

Cons

Unfortunately some of the health benefits appear to be declining in what they offer. It also seems at times that the business is becoming less family oriented and more focused on doing whatever it takes to make a buck even if that means at the expense of their employees.
