      No pay for performance!

      Pros

      A good portion of the folks will be retiring in the next 5 to 10 year. This may help facilitate advancement opportunities.

      Cons

      Promotions and raises are few and far between for people with less than 10 years of experience. Even if you get a high performing review you may not recieve any raise. Make sure to get any verbal promises in writing. Make sure you are comfortable making the initial amount you are hired at for the next 4 to 6 years.

      Overall a good place to work, but smaller, younger companies would likely be more interesting for a younger employee.

      Pros

      Stable products lines, employment usually shows this, although not recently. Good pay (I was an engineering intern), the ability to work on a variety of projects. Performance reviews were almost non existent, usually just a 'thanks'. Given my position, I guess that was satisfactory. The truck division has been developing some new products lately (hybrids and the like). If you can stay involved with the new projects, it can be very interesting.

      Cons

      Most of their work is maintaining existing product lines. Great if you want a stable job, but not all that exciting. Not exactly at the forefront of business culture or technology.

      Eaton balances the investment of all key stakeholders: Customers (i.e. Aerospace customer centric initiative), Employees (i.e. fair compensation/career growth/safety), Investors, and our Communities (i.e. Corporate Charitable Contributions....Eaton gave our commuity over $100,000 last year!) Eaton's unwavering values, inclusive culture, leadership capability and the dedication of our employees will get us through this economic storm! Im proud to work for Eaton.
