Pros

Progressive work environment unafraid to challenge archaic Industrial era management practices, strong culture with coherent values and norms (they practice what they preach), a company that exemplifies the attitude that how you treat your employees will be reflected in their work product (treat them better, they'll produce better outcomes for the company)

Cons

Low turnover and long tenures can leave new hires feeling like a high school transfer student looking for a place to sit in the lunchroom (even though everyone here is generally friendly and welcoming); anyone more accustomed to a highly structured and process oriented corporate environment may struggle to adapt to the entrepreneurial, outcome oriented mode of operations here that simultaneously makes it such a great place for self-directed and intrinsically motivated individuals

Response: What a thoughtful review! Thank you! We always love to hear about the enjoyment employees get from working in our innovative environment and unique culture. In addition to that, we really love suggestions on things we can do to make our employees’ experiences even more rewarding and gratifying. You mention acclimating as a new hire could be a struggle. I know this is true of any new job and environment, but if you have any suggestions on things we could incorporate into our new hire experience/orientation to assist with that, we would absolutely love to hear them. Please reach out to the Employment Experience team as we are in the process of redesigning the onboarding program. The same goes for any ideas you have about communicating Edmunds’ vision and the role we should play in the ever-changing landscape of the automotive, car shopping, and technology sectors.

Great work environment, positive people who are extremely helpful, very detailed process docs for everything possible.

Cons

Steep learning curve for new hires. A ton of processes which should be cut down. A lot of fresh college grads. Could be a pro or con

The emphasis on training is vital, particularly with the account management group as you and your team are the central hub of knowledge, support and expertise for our sales team and dealer clients. We encourage you to reach out to the operations and training teams with any suggestions or feedback you may have on process efficiencies as they are always looking for ways to improve and be more effective to set new hires up for success! This is especially timely right now, when as you know, we just put in place a new leader for our sales operations team whose main focus is to look at ways to make an already amazing sales operations team that much more of a well-oiled machine.
