Pros

The ability to make unlimited income and create your own schedule.

Cons

The pressure of starting an office from scratch was immense. Many new FA's are given offices and assets while some were given nothing.

Pros

You can make a lot of money from commissions, there is very little management interference in your own office, you can genuinely help some people to save and invest.

Cons

You only make money from certain types of investments and some investments are off the table altogether. Expectations are very high with great training to begin with but then you're left alone with no base salary or support. To compete you need to spend money on business club memberships, advertising and office related costs including postage, and without a base salary you are at a disadavntage to your local competitiors.
