Pros
I have worked at Egnyte for 3+ years and love the culture of openness and freedom to try new things. Been a valley veteran (this is my third startup), I think the CEO is phenomenal and sometimes I worry that he carries this company on his shoulders. While the pressure to deliver is always high, specially the release cycle being intense, it is gratifying to see our product outclass the competition and have customers that sing our praises. There is never a dull moment here and if you are willing to focus on execution, instead of the politics, you will do well here. I love the openness and the transparency in the company that stems from the CEO and the top management.
Cons
The interaction between marketing and all other groups needs to improve. There is a holier than thou attitude that can rub people the wrong way. Also, while large customers can sway the development roadmap, we need more discipline on agreeing to one off requests.
