Shamelessly Biased Management

Pros

Not too much - health benefits are OK.

Cons

My manager did not give me the time he gave other new to learn Elavon-specific information, so I worked hard to learn it on my own. He said I still did not do the job satisfactorily. I quit after two years when even repeated calls to Senior Managements' attention did nothing. The senior manager just said he's "working on it".

Steer Clear Unless You Just Need a Check.

Pros

Great at growth through acquisitions. You get to meet some really knowledgeable people, learn a bit about the payments industry and get a steady paycheck just for dealing with the endless stream of internal barriers. You're not really expected to complete much work, just show up on time and write about things in your "activity log".

Cons

Three seats of power: Atlanta=Sales, Denver=Operations, Knoxville=IT and none communicate or want anything to do with the other...that equals a dysfunctional family. No HR presence at all for workers; benefits and all other usual HR functions are self-service. Potential for merit increases or promotion are nil, make sure you sign on at the pay grade you are comfortable with for the remainder of your employment.

Pros

One of the largest gateway and acquiring companies in North America I love the people I work with, and the satisfaction of my job.

Cons

DB&A's involvement is leading the company to failure. Elavon is known for amazing service, and micro-management is smothering employees. I feel I cannot effectively do my job because I am forced to spend so much time keeping a very detailed tracking sheet accurate. Exceptional work is not recognized (which I have grown used to), but this new micro-management strategy makes going "Above and Beyond" a NEGATIVE thing in our metrics, leading a WORSE experience for our customers. Reading from DB&A's reviews on this website, they are not there to help the company, but create an environment so stressful people leave. And our talented people WILL leave if DB&A is not REMOVED.
