Pros

The company culture is very good. A lot of personal responsibility and freedom. Engineers are encouraged to build their own designs and see it through from design all the way to installation at the customer site. Amazing coworkers. Very friendly and always helpful. Maybe a few bad eggs in the whole company. Great environment for well rounded growth opportunities, especially for newer engineers. Good work-life balance. Very little pressure to put in crazy hours.

Cons

Lack of rigid structure can be tough for some to handle. Salaries tend to be a little low for starting engineers.

Pros

EI has been a lot of fun working for. You're involved in the entire engineering process, from design to ordering parts and building/installing the finished product. This means you don't get tons of micromanaging and have lots of freedom in the design process, which is great if you have a passion for learning and figuring out processes. It's also very easy to get to know people in higher positions due to how the company is laid out, which makes learning about more particular things with the programs we use a lot easier. There are tons of opportunities to travel, and the health benefits are really good. Plus they give you uniforms every year, which is great for not messing up your personal clothing.

Cons

The pay is not great for how expensive the area is in Washington, especially for new engineers. It also can be difficult starting off here, as the freedom I stated in Pros can make it a bit difficult to understand what you're doing at first. It's also very easy to be essentially a technician for extended periods of time due to the nature of the company, which can help for improving as an engineer, but does get monotonous. I've also overheard a few too many conversations that I haven't seen outside the internet, which can be uncomfortable, but it is easy to avoid those people.

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn and try things. Flexible work schedule. You get to build the things you design. Benefits package is great, pay is ok too.

Cons

Management is at times unpredictable.
