Pros

Great industry to be in and EA is the leader in the video game industry. EA has the biggest portfolio in the industry and some of the biggest video game franchises. People at EA tend to be very laid back and know how to have fun outside of work with colleagues.

Cons

EA tends to be more reactive vs. proactive thus sometimes instead of acting as the leader in the industry, EA is slow to drive innovation. Creative leaders in the company need to be allowed to spend less time selling their ideas across the organization and instead focus on executing innovative initatives.

Pros

Reasonably good compensation and benefits. Lots of very smart people to work along side. There are good programs in place for growth and learning. The technology is interesting to work on and cutting edge. Outside of finaling, hours are flexible.

Cons

Overtime is a scheduled reality when shipping a game, even though management won't say it. The company has the usual political turf wars that any large company has. There is a lot of redundant effort for projects, sharing is not nearly as good as it should be. The EA University runs out of useful information at about the SE2 level - there are no good courses for more senior engineers.
