Pros

Great work, making video games is really an exciting profession. Coworkers are also topnotch and are allot of fun to be around.

Cons

Senior management is dangerously inept and resistant to a new way of doing things. They insist on crunching staff in the face of a decade of enlightened management practices.

Pros

* Good career growth * Above average compensation for industry * Great people to work with * Stable studio unlikely to close in next decade

Cons

* High stress environment * Frequently changing in game features; engineers work extra hours to compensate for poor planning * Bad SE workflow; building the game is difficult and time consuming

Pros

Salaries are quite good for the game industry and benefits are some of the best amongst Engineering jobs anywhere.

Cons

Excessive layers of management, management lies to you about job performance. Promotions are not given for merit, rather on how friendly you are with the jocks there (the production team). It's just like high school. Furthermore their recruiters are some of the most unprofessional and rude people I've dealt with in my career.
