Unappreciated and undervalued
Pros
The only good thing about working here are my colleagues that I work with. We all seem to get along very well at my particular site with a good working atmosphere.
Cons
The main problem is with upper management. They spend so much time and money telling us how wonderful the company is and how they value us all but none of that translates into anything meaningful. The salary for engineers is very poor with no prospects. Sales people are given bonuses even when they constantly get quotes wrong (which is very frequent) and yet the engineers are then told to absorb the costs. There is no investment in the company at all. Element would rather spend money buying more and more labs than invest in the ones they already have to the point that requesting the purchase of a cable is denied based on lack of money! The engineers are constantly being asked to work overtime and weekends but there is no real incentive to do so. Yes there is overtime pay but I personally would prefer salary increase and bonuses to this as it would show the company actually cares about it's staff. I would not recommend anybody works here and strongly advise you to look elsewhere for a career!
