Pros

Back in 2018-2020, I had lots of positive things to say. I quit in 2025 because I had nothing positive left to say.

Cons

Forced hybrid 3x a week even when hired remote. Promotions based on politics not merit. Low performers and toxic leaders are protected while high performers are driven away due to toxic culture, ridiculous workload, no backfills or backfills that take months and months. Insurance premiums are outrageous for working for a healthcare company, and insurance sucks. Low pay and bonuses gutted. Did I mention toxic, toxic, toxic!!!

Pros

Good benefits Remote work from home

Cons

1. Horrible upper mgmt. 2. They say they want whole person care with high engagement rates with members, but they take away programs that are exactly that. 3. They take away essential meetings for collaboration between CM depts, but add unnecessary meetings with upper mgmt talking about how "wonderful" they think the changes they're making are. 4. They say they want to hear employee's thoughts and want to collaborate with them, instead they ask our opinion, but respond with "here's how we're going to do this anyway" completely ignoring employee's thoughts who actually do the work. 5. Unrealistic expectations with member outreach, expecting 10 calls per hour for RN case managers, treating us as if we're a call center. 6. Expecting high engagement rates with members, but implementing system changes that yield opposite results such as robo calls, bots, and telling us we can only be on the phone 10 minutes with members. 7. They enforce the use of systems that don't work, but still expect high productivity. 8. We are reminded often we are lucky to have jobs. 9. Job security is horrible, downsizing constantly then expecting other employees to take on the extra workload with no added compensation. 10. Approving vacation then taking it away due to "business needs" aka them downsizing to save money then not having staff to cover. 11. No advancement opportunities. 12. Anthem used to be a great employer, but when they allowed Carelon to take over, it turned into a nightmare job. Carelon could care less.
