Benefits, location (if you like that area), high level of student talent.

Cons

Poor department oversight. Some professors (Performing Arts) are worked hours beyond capacity, expected to be available without advance notice. Diva personalities, sexist language tolerated. Too much emphasis on DEI at expense of content and substance.

Pros

When the University is closed, offices are closed.

Cons

There is not much room for career advancement. Expect to work hard for no reward or recognition. Most staff members in my department were not allowed flexibility to work remotely during a time where COVID was at its peak.
