Pros

Most of the people are nice

Cons

Culture of violence and acceptance / enabling During a meeting with another employee, he got angry and hit a table, which then hit me leaving a bruise and swelling. I reported this to HR and another VP. Their solution was to provide coaching to me with the advice "if you ask more questions, he'll feel more needed and less likely to get violent". Terrible advice. No real leadership. Sexist, hostile culture that grows worse everyday.

Pros

I gained corporate experience at a large, international company. Emerson never changes, which is a con to me, but a pro to others. They have a gym with a free personal trainer and classes, which was literally the best part about going to work.

Cons

Sexual harassment from men. Very closed-minded to new ideas. Political. Very black & white, and most employees are "robotic." I learned that the only reason why most people stay there is because it's comfortable/safe, not because they are passionate about what they do.

Your comment regarding sexual harassment is very concerning to us. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated at Emerson. If you would, please contact the Emerson Corporate Human Resources Department to allow us to investigate further.

Pros

The people doing the day to day work are doing the best they can and really do there best to help each other out.

Cons

As an Emerson company the benefits plans have been lowered. No employee stock purchase plan, health care benefits were lowered and then the price was raised. As people leave they are not replaced, which increases the workload for the rest. Upper management from Emerson has the attitude if you don't like then go some were else, although they do say they want to make it a better place to work. For those reading this is a place for a job not a career.
